There are offices in Vancouver and Singapore that had worked on the big sequences of the film and also in Ireland where the dedicated visual effects team were stationed. Lastly, there's a lot of resources and time that were poured into the production of the film as there are numerous offices that were working on specific projects with specific roles.
One of the tricks that the studio did during the production is bringing the motion capture performers together with the live action performers together with the real-time capture of the entire scene which all the cameramen and actors can see - giving a much deeper feeling to their roles in the scene. It's basically crucial for the film to recreate the intensity of the Orcs and bringing with them the classic body mannerisms and facial gestures in order to successfully depict the alien race.Īccording to the ILM animation supervisor, Hal Hickel, the actors' expressions and emotions are just as important as their face and body captures(CGI) are because it fully captivates and bring not just the Orcs but the entire World of Warcraft universe into being. Now, it's an undeniable fact that the Orcs are one of the main reasons for the success of the game - after all, the story is focused on how the Orcs managed to reach the world of Azeroth and how the battle between the two races began. Now, Industrial Light & Magic, the studio behind the film's enormous production, shows us a glimpse of how complex bringing the Orcs back into life. The cinematography and overall production was a huge step-up from traditional CGI films and incorporated some of the most sophisticated modern technologies of the century.
